My stories are set in two very different worlds—one driven by ancient mystery and supernatural adventure, the other by the emotional journeys of today's women navigating love, friendship and life’s crossroads. Both have finding courage and resilience in the face of change as a core theme .

Writing as D. K. Henderson, I am the author of The Skull Chronicles, a fast-paced adventure series blending ancient mysteries and supernatural intrigue with metaphysical fantasy. The series was inspired by my introduction to the world of the crystal skulls in 2011. It was a meeting that sparked a storytelling journey exploring hidden histories, powerful artifacts, and secrets humanity has yet to uncover.

As Dawn K. Henderson, I write emotionally intelligent contemporary women’s fiction. My first novel in this genre, Heel Lead, was inspired by my own love of dance, which embraces ballroom and Latin, western line dance, and salsa. These stories explore relationships, friendship, love, and the relationships that shape us.

I live in the beautiful landscape of South Devon, close to the wild beauty of Dartmoor, and share my home with my own family of crystal skulls, constant reminders that sometimes the most intriguing stories begin with a single serendipitous meeting. When I’m not writing, curled up on my sofa with buckets of coffee and an (almost) inexhaustible supply of chocolate digestives, you’ll find me on the dance floor or wandering Dartmoor, a wild and mystical place that inspires my creativity in ways I still find magical.
